Earlier Nelang Valley used to be the unexplored valleys in Uttarakhand. Located on the Indo-China border at an altitude of over 11,000 feet above the sea level. The valley was shut for civilians after the 1962 Sino-Indian border conflict. The inhabitants of this valley were rehabilitated to other places during the 1962 war. Right now, no one lives in this valley and allows to explore the valley. However, in 2015 Uttarakhand Government stated that the tourists can explore the valley.
Coming to the expedition to the valley is open to explore only during the daytime. Moreover, limited vehicles were allowed. Each one carries only six people.
